In December 2010, the FTC release a report that proposes a framework to balance the privacy interests of consumers with innovation that relies on consumer information to develop beneficial new products and services. As an industry leader in Privacy, eBay publicly answered the questions posed by the FTC. The formal Statement was issued today by eBay's Associate General Counsel, Global Privacy Leader, Scott Shipman. "eBay strongly believes that innovation in the Internet economy depends on consumer trust and that maintaining consumer privacy is essential to the continued growth of the Internet," Shipman said.
